Ephesians 6:10

“Finally brethren...”

As Elder Poole used to say, ‘it don’t take much more than the knowin’ of Ned in the third grade’ to know that when one says ‘finally’ it is the summation of a subject. Paul instructs the brethren to be followers of God and walk in love as Christ loved us and gave up Himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for an odour of sweet smell. This did not take place two thousand years ago, although it was manifested then, for the Lamb which John saw, stood as it had been slain from the foundation of the world. Therefore the love of the brethren is according to the everlasting love of the Father that knows no limitations of time.

Paul continues that being filled with the Spirit, we speak to each other in Psalms and Hymns and spiritual songs. This must be the new song spoken of by John which the redeemed of the Lord sing and which no man can learn. Sorry Adam!

He then says, “finally brethren, being in the strength of the Lord and the power of His might, sink down into the whole armour of God”. Without the eternal love, being filled with the Spirit, the strength of the Lord and the power of His might, there is no armour to put on and no ability to do so if there were. The implements of the armour is the fruit of the Spirit and the armour is the same as the anointing oil that flowed down over Aaron’s head and beard uniting all parts as one.

Brethren be aware of the methodology of the wicked one. He is the Father of all lies and a murderer from the beginning. He is still presenting himself to us in Gods stead being transformed into and angel of light and we are no ignorant of his ways. The garments wherewith the bride has been granted to be arrayed being the righteousness of the saints and their salvation shall stand against this methodology yet the dust of the earthen vessels may fall and that by the decree of God.

Your servant in Christ,
