SONGS OF ZION
The songs on the left are taken from the Goble Hymn book, the songs in the right are from Lloyds Hymnal and below them are from Beebe's Hymnal. You will notice that most of Beebe's have titles where the other two do not, so the first line of the hymn from Lloyds and Gobles is the link. If you have never heard of them, please take the time to read some of these. You won't be disappointed. - Tom
Goble Hymnal
- #1 God moves in a mysterious way,
- #4 Awake, my soul, in joyful lays,
- #14 In union with the lamb,
- #15 Grace, ‘tis a charming sound,
- #19 Sons we are, though God’s election,
- #20 Prepare me, gracious God,
- #23 Salvation through our dying Head,
- #24 Vain are the hopes the sons of men
- #27 And may I hope that when no more,
- #28 Thy mercy, my God, is the theme of my song,
- #30 And may I hope that when no more,
- #32 Ere the blue heav’ns were stretch’d abroad.
- #39 All Hail the pow’r of Jesus’ name!
- #44 Hark! the voice of love and mercy
- #45 He dies! the friend of sinners dies!
- #53 Alas! And did my Savior bleed,
- #57 We are a garden walled around,
- #71 How sweet the name of Jesus sounds,
- #74 Kindred in Christ for his dear sake
- #81 Jesus! And shall it ever be,
- #88 Christians, if your hearts are warm,
- #94 When I survey the Wond’rous cross
- #100 Ye messengers of Christ,
- #108 Thus far the Lord has led me on,
- #115 Approach, my soul, the mercy-seat,
- #117 Now, gracious Lord, thine arm reveal,
- #120 This is the day the Lord hath made,
- #121 Come, let us join with one accord
- #122 Awake and sing the song
- #124 From all that dwell below the skies,
- #126 Let worldly minds the world pursue,
- #127 Come, ye that Love the Lord,
- #130 Come, Holy Spirit, heav’nly Dove,
- #132 What cheering words are these?
- #143 When languor and disease invade
- #160 My God, the spring of all my joys,
- #167 How firm a foundation, ye saints
- #172 The voice of the Shepherd his flock shall convene,
- #174 Savior! visit thy plantation;
- #175 Amazing grace, how sweet the sound!
- #179 Guide me, O thou great Jehovah!
- #182 Tell me no more of earthly toys,
- #184 'Tis a point I long to know,
- #186 Salvation! O, melodious sound,
- #187 Savior divine! we know thy name,
- #190 Time like a fleeting shadow flies,
- #198 Sometimes that which I most desire,
- #200 I am a stranger here below,
- #201 Self-Righteous souls on works rely,
- #205 I know that my Redeemer lives:
- #207 It is a glorious mystery – ‘tis a wonder,
- #214 O tell me no more of this world’s van store,
- #222 Sweet rivers of redeeming love
- #225 Mixtures of joy and sorrow
- #224 How lost was my condition
- #234 O happy day, when saints shall meet,
- #241 Before the day-star knew its place,
- #245 A child of Jehovah, a subject of grace,
- #248 I saw the Jewish temple purged,
- #250 In thy great name, O Lord, we come
- #251 Could I find, from day to day,
Lloyds Hymnal
- #2 Thy mercy, my God, is the theme of my song,
- #3 Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
- #4 As on the cross the Saviour hung,
- #33 He dies! the friend of sinner dies,
- #35 When Jesus hung upon the tree,
- #38 Dark was the night, and cold the ground,
- #60 Rejoice, the Lord is King;
- #75 In Sharon's lovely Rose,
- #199 O Tell me no more of this world's vain store,
- #200 Come, we that love the Lord,
- #300 How did my heart rejoice to hear,
- #334 From every stormy wind that blows,
- #361 Father, whate'er of earthly bliss
- #362 Approach, my soul, the mercy seat,
- #385 My span of life will soon be done,
- #419 Mid scenes of confusion and creature complaints,
- #600 There is a world of perfect bliss,
- #611 There was an hour when Christ rejoiced,
- #681 How happy's every child of grace,
- #685 How painfully pleasing the fond recollection,
- #689 O land of rest for thee I sigh,
