This user is an alternative account for User:Aristeas

It is a legitimate alternative account, used to test improvements for the code of FPCBot and similar stuff. Running FPCBot (even in read-only mode) requires a username and a password, and Aristeas does not want to use his own account and password, (i) due to security concerns and (ii) in order to avoid any confusion between his own personal edits and any edits made during the tests.

Usually this account just reads pages and does not change them. From time to time it makes a few edits on the Featured picture candidate list and related pages, just the same tasks that are normally carried out by FPCBot. This is necessary to test whether some improvements in the FPCBot code work as expected or not. Aristeas executes the script step by step with live control, not automatically (this is why he emphasizes that this account is not a bot ;–). Afterwards he meticulously patrols all these edits a second time to rule out any damage.

Nevertheless, if you notice questionable edits made by this account, especially suspicious edits, please contact Aristeas to inform him that this account has been compromised or that something else has gone wrong. Thank you very much! Any comments should be posted on Aristeas’s talk page.
